Shanti Shala Yoga Cebu

Yoga studios aren't particularly abundant in Cebu. So when I found out about Shanti Shala, I was definitely interested. The name seemed authentic enough. And they were located in Salinas Drive in Lahug too, which was a definite plus. There's another authentic yoga place near Cebu Doctors Hospital but it was just too far for me. I'm a lazy commuter. And I'm also a lazy exerciser haha!

Anyway, the fats are starting to show more and more so I decided to give exercising another go.

Shanti Shala offers beginners yoga (which I patronize), ananda yoga and pilates. Classes are ongoing from am to pm, the last one starts at 7:25pm. Rates are P100 to P150 per class, the evening classes being more expensive. There are also package rates as well. They have things like 10 day wellness challenges, free yoga on the weekends and video showings.  If you're interested, you can check out their Facebook page here.

As far as the experience went, the beginners class was good. Our yoga master, Amitabaha, was good. It was enjoyable. And in all the class was 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes, so it was a decent session.

Be warned though that the place is not air conditioned. There are mats you can borrow but bring your own towel to cover the mat for hygiene purposes. The floors are not spotless too. So if you're looking for a high-end place, this may not be the best place for you.
